Cub Scouts is a family-friendly program of Scouting America (formerly the Boy Scouts of America) for kids ages 5–10. Each year, Scouts advance through ranks — Lion, Tiger, Wolf, Bear, Webelos, and Arrow of Light — earning badges and awards that reflect real skills and real growth.
It’s not just camping and badges. It’s about making friends, working as a team, learning to contribute to their community, and building confidence. Our focus is on hands-on activities and games so scouts learn through play, not lessons. The emphasis is always on having fun!
In a world full of screens, Cub Scouts gives kids — and their parents — a reason to trade the iPad for real adventures.
Life in the Pack
Overnight campouts, hikes, and outdoor adventures in and around Wheaton.
Rocket launches, ski trips, ice skating parties, a Pinewood Derby, and more.
Parades, food drives, and service projects that teach our scouts how to make a difference.
Cub Scouts is a parent-and-child activity. You’re not on the sidelines — you’re part of the adventure too.
Finding a geocache on the trail — one of many Pack 335 adventures.
Pack 335 by the numbers
Wheaton’s Pack 335 is one of the more active packs in the Three Fires Council — run entirely by volunteer parent leaders. Unlike most kids’ activities, Cub Scouts is designed for parents and scouts to experience together. You’re not dropping them off — you’re along for the ride. Typically, your scout will have the ability to attend two events per month.
From our pack families
“In Cub Scouts our kids get to do things they’d never get to do anywhere else.”
Paul Rusin — Pack 335 parent
“Through Scouts our kids have made lifelong friendships and discovered interests they’d never know about otherwise. As any parent knows, it can be hard to get the kids out the door for a lot of things. But for scout meetings they’re thrilled to throw down the iPad and go outside!”
Bill Tasch — Pack 335 parent
“Unlike other activities where we sit on the sidelines, Cub Scout activities involve parents working side by side with their scout. It’s been a great way to share quality time having cool experiences with our son!”
